Ben Raaf

Director of Students & Worship.

What is your job? I serve the church as the Director of Students & Worship

What are your responsibilities? I oversee our student ministry (middle and high school) and our ministry of worship through music. Student ministry exists to help students grow as followers of Jesus who are dependent on him, made resilient in him, and sent by him. Our worship ministry exists to help our church bring all of who we are to treasure all of who God is. I love having a front row seat to Jesus raising up the next generation and getting praise from his people! I also love getting to work alongside our phenomenal student ministry leaders, musicians, sound techs, and ProPresenter teams!

Family? I have no siblings and my parents live in Lake of the Ozarks. The rest of my family is speckled from Texas to New York.

Where are you from? I was born in Kansas City and raised in Blue Springs, MO.

Education and Experience? I studied Music Education at Kansas State University and have taken a number of courses at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I taught music in the public schools prior to joining Redeemer’s staff in 2019.

What hobbies/interests outside of work? I love having quality time and good food with friends and family. I rarely turn down chips and salsa or granola bars. I feel refreshed playing music, walking, riding a skateboard, and watching or reading things that open my eyes and prompt growth. I savor great songs, stories, ginger ale, and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.
